History of Biology Education Study Program

The history of the formation of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, the University of Mulawarman, hereinafter referred to as Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FTTE) Unmul began with the formation of a presidium called the Presidium of IKIP Samarinda in 1972, which then officially declared itself to join the University of Mulawarman by merging into one of the faculties. The merger of the Presidium of FTTE Samarinda into the 5th faculty at the University of Mulawarman at that time was confirmed through the approval of the Governor of KDH Level I of East Kalimantan by Mr. A. Wahab Syahranie and through the Decree of the Director-General of Higher Education Number: 181/D/E/1978. From the perspective of time, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FTTE) Unmul has gone through a long history as a faculty focused on the mandate of implementing the tri dharma of higher education in the field of education in the regions. Now, the University of Mulawarman has 13 (thirteen) faculties with many study programs.

The Biology Education Study Program is one of the Study Programs at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the University of Mulawarman which was established based on the Decree of the Director-General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 102/DIKTI/Kep/1985 on August 21, 1984. The Biology Education Undergraduate Study Program has a field of expertise in Biology Education, which is a field of expertise needed to support national development and regional development, especially East Kalimantan. The Bachelor of Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mulawarman has obtained BAN-PT National Accreditation with an A (Very Good) rating for the 2018-2023 period with the SK BAN-PT Number: BAN-PT RI No. 1748/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/VII/2018 on 17 July 2018.
