Job Fair Mulawarman University


A job fair is a job fair that brings together employers or companies with job seekers. Usually the job vacancies available at job fairs are quite diverse, the companies participating in job fairs range from the private sector to state-owned companies. Job fairs are like exhibitions where companies will fill a number of booths, then job seekers can visit the booths to look for vacancy information, submit applications, and even take part in the interview process. Job fairs are free. Job fairs are job fairs where job seekers can talk directly to employers, send applications and resumes, ask direct questions about available vacancies and find out the company's background. This event can provide an opportunity for job applicants to meet directly with the company, learn information about available positions, and apply for jobs.
The implementation of the job fair by the Mulawarman University Career Development and Entrepreneurship Technical Implementation Unit (UPT Perkasa) is one form of the university's efforts to accelerate the absorption of graduates. Job fairs are held four times a year and are held before graduation and graduation. Starting in 2023, the job fair event will again be held offline after several years previously being held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In its implementation, there is always cooperation from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Mulawarman University. With the job fair, it is hoped that Mulawarman University alumni can get their first job in less than 6 months as stipulated in the main performance indicator 1 (IKU-1), as well as supporting study program accreditation data related to alumni.
The implementation of this job fair also began with the inauguration of the Mulawarman University BKK. The Special Job Exchange (BKK) is an institution under UPT Perkasa, Mulawarman University which has the task of being an implementation unit that provides services and information on job vacancies, implements marketing, distribution and placement of workers, and is a partner of the Manpower and Transmigration Service.
The implementation of this stage of the job fair is also directly supported by several faculties such as the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP). Support from FKIP in job fair activities is an effort to fulfill ASIIN's international accreditation requirements. The suggestion given is to hold a job fair involving partners who use FKIP graduates such as schools and tutoring. In the 2023 Jobfair activities, apart from companies, several schools and tutoring institutions are also taking part in holding school expos and also opening up job vacancies for graduates, especially FTTE graduates.

The job fair is held offline, but an online platform is also provided to make it easier for jobseekers to get job information or apply for jobs. Especially for participants from outside the Samarinda area who want to take part in the activity.


Apart from the job fair, sharing sessions were also held with partners, both from companies, institutions and schools. Sharing sessions are carried out using a presentation and talk show system which is carried out during the job fair and the participants are job fair visitors. Apart from sharing sessions, several partners also provided short career development workshops, such as what soft skills are needed in the world of work, how to make a CV, and how to face job interviews.
